I've only really started getting into tv properly last year so don't think I can say a top 5 just yet.
Currently watching The Wire and love it, Breaking bad was great too ofc.
There was a show I watched last year called Rectify I highly recommend to those who haven't seen it, only 6 eps so far but it's acclaimed by everyone.

Feel free to hit us with some recs

On the Sons of Anarchy hype at the mo. Nearly finished season 3. Ron Perlman what a guy. Would recommend it to all of you.

Watched first season of the Wire, couldn't get into it. Same with Community.

Couldn't give a top 5 but Breaking Bad, GoT, Modern Family, Parks and Rec, Spartacus, The Office (UK and US), Arrested Development, Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, Extras, Phoenix Nights are the main TV programs.

Also Spongebob is the shit. Mish you are a hero for mentioning that. Fuckin love that guy. Invader Zim is my other favorite toon.

I agree that it panders abit to the kid audience after a while but I'd say right up to s6 it stays fresh.

The movie is goddamn incredible too.

If you guys like Arrested Development and Parks and Rec, you should watch "Up all Night". It was axed a while ago but the seasons that it ran for were brilliant. Will Arnett is among my favorite actors

Agree with Deese on Homeland. The lead actress is fucking annoying but the ginger prick and Inigo Montoya make up for it.

I mentioned It earlier but if anyone hasn't seen The Shield please do so now. It is the best cop show ever made. Yes The Wire is good but can't touch The Shield. Plus if you like Breaking Bad or Dexter you'd like it. Instead of a teacher hiding he's a drug kingpin or a blood analyst hiding he's a serial killer it's about a detective hiding the fact he's basically LAs most dangerous criminal.

Or Deadwood if you're into Westerns. Ian McShane is the best actor in television. You might remember him from Lovejoy if you don't know who I'm talking about.

Also forgot to mention the gem that is Freaks and Geeks. Lasted less than a full year but it brings you back to the "good ol days." And Lindsay Weir is the love of my life. They just recently put it in netflix too I think.

Damian Lewis is a god. Mandy Patinkin is an angel. Carrie was the best in the first season. By the third season she had become a parody of herself.

Shows like the Shield and the Wire are difficult to get into for me. Really heavy cop shit.

Freaks and Geeks is a true gem. James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel when they were wee babies and the lead actress was great.

Old Spongebob was my shit. One of the most quotable toons of all time.

Really? I really wanted to finish it but the last season was so bad

I find it hard to rate TV series that started so well but ended so bad, Heroes started of amazing.

OMG they making The Flash tv series, like Arrow
Going be awesome, they should do some Marvel tv series like these.

I'm willing to forgive a drop in quality in later years for series I like. Like The Office and Lost.
Fringe started off poorly imo. It wasn't until they started exploring the..."lore" (for lack of a better word) when it got great. The observers and the alternate universe and the mystery surrounding it all was excellent. It got more serialized towards the end also. That and John Noble is fantastic.

The last series I kind of liked. Of course by then it wasn't really the Fringe we have come to love over the years but idk I still liked it.

I hate when great series like Fringe and Chuck suffer because nobody watches it. Americans are too busy watching American idol and biggest loser that a lot of the standout network shows suffer.

Kings was another great series that ended prematurely.

I have tons of shows on my computer and netflix of course. Need to start watching true detective again lost track of it due to work and everything. I'm pretty much behind everything. The best british show is Peep Show. That show is truly brilliant. Also tend to watch The Office and Seinfeld before I go to bed sometimes. I have Fringe, Viking, and Ripper Street that I got on Blu Ray over Christmas time and need to watch those too.

Leaning mainly to the first 2 really because my brother says TD is class and House of Cards is totally gonna help me ace my US Government course at uni.
