Nah, I always do that when I'm talking about the rap game or basketball.

Even now that the clippers are better than the Lakers nobody even cares about the clippers.

I went to a clipper game once with someone at Staples Center and they were beating Denver by 15. I left in the 3rd quarter cuz idc about them and we went to a place to eat right nexxt to stables center.

On every single tv they had on the laker game where they were losing by 20 to golden state but not one had the clippers who were 2 minutes away up by 15.

That should show you how much people in LA care about the clippers

I've also been to a Clippers game. My uncle's boss has season tickets to both the Clippers and the Lakers. He usually goes to Lakers games. When he can't be arsed to show up to a Clippers game he hands them out to his employees.

Stayed the whole time. Basketball crowds are dreadful. Everyone was stuffing their fucking face. I saw at least 30 people wearing Lakers jerseys and no one cared. There was this old black bloke wearing a weird Clippers suit screaming and singing all game. Apparently he's famous. Almost got in trouble by a steward for drinking (I was 20 or some shit, this was before CP3 I think because I couldn't name a single player on that whole sad team).

There was this big, hench, black, bald bloke and his son sitting in front of us. Chatted up and celebrated every basket in the last 5 minutes (35 IRL minutes) of the game (they won), hi5'd each other and shit. Sound people. Actually made the whole experience worth something.

Been to a fair few Lakers games. Experience was a bit better since Kobe was on fire and the place was fucking crawling with pussy. Other than that, all the same fat fucks eating hot dogs and shit. No singing, no passion, just senseless screaming and eating. They kept showing Jack Nicholson and Leo DiCaprio on the big fuck off screen. Was about 15-20 rows behind them. Game was brilliant, they were playing the Sixers as I recall.

Downtown was flooded afterwards.

People pretty much care about the clippers like people care about the Athletics and the Angels in baseball. If they aren't the big dog on the block, no one really cares..

Course I'm probably ass backwards cause I don't care to follow either of those sports. I'm an American that prefers football to handegg and Formula 1 to NASCAR. Pretty fuckin hard to have decent conversation about sports around here.

Angels are actually pretty big in LA.

The clippers are more like the mets. Why the hell would you care about the mets when you have the Yankees.

Why support Atletico when you can support Real?
Why support Torino when you can support Juventus?
Why support Everton when you could support Liverpool?

Do you realise how dumb that reasoning sounds?

No because in American sports there's no glory in supporting the little guy. The reason why they are crap is because they have shit owners that don't care about winning And instead of building championship teams they just go on and upgrade the stadiums.

You're forgetting the culture is different. Everyone supports their local team. If there's 2 they support the best. It isn't the same in Europe.

Only people who care about the clippers are people not from LA and started liking them because they finally became good.

Nard literally knows nothing about any sport.

Last season, the Clippers were the best team in the regular season. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Chauncey Billups, Odom as 6th man is a GOAT team. The NBA is a special league because there are no "small teams". The closest thing you can get to a small team is the Charlotte Bobcats, who are actually showing strides to a knicks-esque transformation.

The point of supporting "the little guy" is becauise all teams have an equal chance of winning because of the Playoffs format. I'm a Knicks fan, because I live there. And while they have been shit for a long time, they go into every Playoff with the same chance of winning as the Miami Heat and OKC Thunder

"Why would you go for the Mets when you have the Yankees"

The Yankees are the most hated sports franchise in America. The only people in New York who like the Yankees are over-40, or Puerto Rican.

That is why they're probably one of the biggest sports brands in America? The fuck you going on about man... It's like, every serious poster decided to chill back and just have fun, where as you've seen that opening to jump on up from 'Lol Sephi' to 'Sephi the auto-correct'. I honestly never had a problem with you until just recently.

The Yankees are valued at nearly 2 billion dollars, quite a big damn team when only 40+ year olds and Puerto Ricans support them no? Which blows your 'observation' out of the water considering there wouldn't be a point to them having quite the stance they do on the world stage had they not have the local support. The Yankees are probably the biggest team in all of American sports when you look at it.

And wtf are you going on about the 'little' guy? You know who supports the little guy? The guy who's father or grandfather took them to a few games when they were a child, the guy who grew up seeing those 'clippers' posters and what not. It's a fucking hipster douchebag thing to jump around saying "Clippers are so boss!" "Come on Mariners, you can do it!" "Bet them Browns can make it to the SB" "United 19 points down? I think I'll suppor the come-back kids"

Jesus Christ. People like big, flashy, trophy winning teams BECAUSE OF THAT. THEY WIN. When they win, they get money. When they get money, the get better players... whom in turn help them win to get more money to get that bigger stadium. Bigger Stadium? So you and your friends can all go watch them. Why? So you can go to work the next day and bomb on your asshat friend cause he supported the shitty bobcats while the heat tore them a new asshole.

Nard is right on the damn point. No one gave a flying fuck about the Clippers until they started winning shit. I don't give a fuck what name you throw out or what kind of stats you toss my way. I live in fucking California and I think the Clippers are from another fucking state. Me. A guy who doesn't watch many other sports around here but I can list off the team here. The SF Giants, Angels, Athletics, Dodgers, Padres, Raiders, Chargers, Niner. Fuck, I can go all day. You don't see the Padre's with the same fanbase as the Dodgers do you? FUCK NO cause they suck ass. All the owners care about is making money with these smaller fucking teams. They want to turn a profit and then show up at the clubs like "Yeah, I own an MLB team."

Nard only proves his point further with what you said Sephi, that the clippers just started getting good and now people are flocking to them. Anyone give two shits about the Golden State Warriors? NOPE. Cause they suck ass. Did anyone give a shit about Chivas USA? Nope, cause they sucked so much ass the league pretty much took them away from the owner.

Point is, when someone comes into a sport fresh off the train, they aren't going to look at it like.."It would be cool to be a Warriors fan.." Then they see how baller the Lakers look in comparison and you know what they rock the next season? Purple and gold.

I'm guessing you don't understand American society then do you? Do you know why the Golden State warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trailblazers have the biggest following in the NBA? Because Hipsters. Straight up, Hipsters. American sports aren't like European sports where glory hunting is a thing. The thing is "let's leech on to the small time teams, and when they win, we're going to be like "yeah, we were with them when they were small". After Lebron left, it was "cool" to support the Cavaliers. When the Lakers were ace, it was "cool" to support the Clippers. When the Clippers AND Lakers were on top, it was/is "cool" to support the Warriors and the Kings.

There's a whole culture around supporting the little guy. That culture is mostly indulged by hipsters, but that's the way it is. It's the same reason why everyone is a Brooklyn Nets fan right now, because they're the little guy, trying to take the city away from New York. And people can finally rejoice and say "yes! I was there with the Nets from the very beginning!!"

It's the same reason why the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers have the biggest fanbases in the MLS.
1. Portland and Seattle are the mecca of all hipsters in America
2. Newly established franchises in the MLS, and we were all alive to see them built

Those is the biggest lines of bullshit you've ever directed at me. Ever. After Lebron left, you know who supported the Cavs? People in Cleveland. You know who supported the Heat? Everyone and their grandma. When the Lakers were ace, guess what? Their fan base grew and they're one of the most popular teams in Cali along with the Giants and Dodgers. There is just as much glory hunting in America then in Europe. Know what happened in the SB? Everyone jumped on the Manning cocktrain thinking he was gonna smash on the Seahawks. The hawks win? Guess who became a Seahawks supporter? Who the fuck was a Seahawks supporter before the SB? Fuck all thats who.
