The book thread Empty The book thread

This isn't just limited to books, but any reading material.

Just finished Ready Player One and Steelheart. Both a bit teen (especially RPO which gets cringeworthy at the end) but both interesting concepts. RPO is like a weird Charlie and the Chocolate Factory thing set in a computer simulation. Genius sets a quest to find his heir. Steelheart is a great twist on the superhero genre.

On a graphic novel obsession ATM. From Hell, Y: The Last Man and the new Walking Dead. From Hell is incredible.

A while ago, I wanted to make this thread, but I was worried no one would post and everyone would call me gay.

I like reading books! It's been really hard this semester since I have a lot of schoolwork and grad school apps and shit. My favorites include Crime and Punishment, Count of Monte Cristo, and literally anything Hemingway (particularly Sun Also Rises).

I've been thinking of reading ASoIaF since I friggin LOVE Game of Thrones and can't wait for the new season.

My favourites:

- Hitchhiker's Guide
- ASoIaF
- LotR
- Harry Potter
- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
- Kafka On the Shore
- Life of Pi
- The Book Thief
- Midnight's Children
- Anything by Roald Dahl
- The Little Prince
- Sharpe (book and show)
- The Sandman

Recently finished reading Kafka On the Shore and Murakami is my all-time favourite author now. Ordered Norwegian Wood for my mates since it's arguably my favourite book ever.

Also read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Thought it was okay but I should have read it when I was the age of the characters.

Looking for new things to read.

@Hazy, I think you'd really like The Count of Monte Cristo. It's fucking long as hell (1000+ pages) but it is a joy to read. It's usually what I recommend to people who want to get into reading.

@cheese, thought you were joking about Kasher in the Rye but no it's a real book. It sounds pretty interesting, might pick it up.

I still read every series of Darren Shan - Vampire, Demonata, "Mature". Love them to the extremes and I've even met the guy.

Shame about the Movie they made though - Totally atrocious 1/10

Picked up Zlatan's autobiography today and haven't been able to put it down. I'm about a quarter of the way through and its easily the best autobiography I've ever read. Highly recommend it.

Even though I hate reading I'm tempted to get his or Pirlo's one.

Havent read Pirlo's but I can say that Zlatan's is definitely worth reading for the first chapter alone where he just hilariously rips on Pep Guardiola. Dude's an absolute legend and its really fun to hear his honest opinions on everything he's been through.
