All the Olympic opening ceremony performers, weeks and weeks of rehearsal, The Industrial Revolution, an NHS advert, a bunch of kids getting scared shitless by demons, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Voldemort, Mary Poppins saving their sorry arses, dancing nurses, references to shit TV shows, British music and film references from the 1900's, the inventor of the internet, tons of firework, every seat in the Olympic Stadium getting illuminated pixels, resurrecting a statue of Winston Churchill, Mr. Bean, David Beckham fucking about on a boat, Paul McCartney, and James Bond parachuting out of a helicopter with the fucking Queen.

All of that cost less than Andy Carroll.

To be fair I actually thought it was pretty good. At first I was like what the fuck is this bullshit? But it grew on me.

I thought the lighting was outstanding. Plus the way they did the flame was brilliant.

Arctic Monkeys were awesome, Dizzie Rascal was.... Yeah... Although it made me laugh when Trevor Nelson said his music was grime. Paul McCartney was a nice touch, and I love a good rendition of hey jude has much as anyone but wow he can't sing anymore.

The ceremony was fucking ace, I thought. There were some weird bits, but whatever, I liked it. Had a lot of fun watching it. Liz was fucking hilarious throughout. Tough woman, that old cunt. Watching Becks made me feel proud. Wish he was the final torchbearer, though.

Danny Boyle did a good job.

I think it had to be a bit odd at times though, after all Britain is known to be a bit eccentric.

Becks just looked like a don on that boat, but I think it was fitting for Sir Steve to do the final stint, after all he is the greatest Olympian we've had. Seeing Ali made me happy but sad at the same time. He looked really really rough, but what a legend though.

Only thing that pissed me off is how all the announcements were in French then English. Especially when introducing Liz, that was just wrong.

We should have had the road race on Saturday! We have a Tour De France winner and the world's best sprinter. Instead we fucked it, although it was a combination of us and the other teams not sharing the work load, to be fair.

There is still hope for Tom Daley in the individual dive, but I think the Chinese have got that shit locked down, it is insane how good their divers have been.

Adlington might win the 800m? But again the Chinese are crazy this year, always the Americans and Australians to think about.

I just hope Wiggo does it for us in the time trial tomorrow, would cap off an amazing season for him. The rowing team look strong and Zara Phillips might be in with a medal for riding a horse...

The US basketball team beat Nigeria by 83 points...Christ. I'm wondering how long it'll be before they ban pro players again, or kick the sport out of the Olympics entirely. I know the US choked and only got bronze in '04, but damn...when we're actually trying, it's just not fair.

I've been watching the Olympics in America and it was hard getting used to the Team USA bias.

Seriously, they showed some American gymnast bird crying cos she was supposed to be a world champion but failed to qualify for hours and hours. They then spent a solid 10 minutes calling all the young Russian girls divas even though they were just going about their business.

They wouldn't fucking stop championing that Lochte fellow. They've been talking about how cute that picture he took with that ugly swimming bitch is for at least two days. He could have won two gold medals in half an hour but bottled the first race and got put in his place by Phelps in the second one. Take that, cunt.

For what it's worth, I'm American and I 100% agree that our commentary is stupidly biased and loaded down with inane bullshit. The whole Lochte thing was just them trying to manufacture storylines to drive up interest prior to the games (for better ratings), then Lochte more or less falls flat on his ass and ruins the entire thing.

Really, NBC's olympic coverage is fucking terrible.
