Re: DAT IDIOCY
I'm just wondering how long it is going to go on for. When will the penny finally drop?

Anyone think that J.K. Rowling can write 9 novels from that topic alone?

No. She can't write for shit. Seriously the Harry Potter books are terribly written. Good story and world, but poor writing.
Tolkein (even though he is dead) is better.

Tolkein is better, but JK Rowling is still a great author. If you look at the 'politics' of HP rather than just the child appealing stuff, she's not bad. The obvious one is the racism allegory between Muggles and pure-bloods

Finally. It took me reporting it to the mods (lol boudii style) for them to close that abomination of a topic.

G.R.R.Martin is the best author in history. I like him better than Charles Dickens and I love Charles Dickens....thats not even a logical comparison

George RR Martin would be my favourite author if he'd stop fucking killing everything that breathes.
I'm fully expecting him to kill Arya, Jon, and Bran and make Hodor the prince that was promised just to fuck me off.
JK Rowling's not bad either. The Harry Potter universe is outstanding.
Deathly Hallows was weak, though.

- Spoiler:
- There had better be a fucking Frey genocide in Winds of Winter.

GRRM keeps it real with the killing. He kills the right people at the right time. I only cried once. But Idk if the character is truly dead yet, have to wait for book 6. I'm dying to know. The "ides of Winter" (If you know what I mean) really stabbed me in the heart.

He's not dead. Impossible. It wouldn't be left as a cliffhanger if he actually did die. He's too important and his story too cool.
And no, I don't quite recall the ides of winter. What is that?

How did I not catch that?
But no, there's too much evidence suggesting he doesn't die.
Smoking wounds, tears, stars,
He might die, but he certainly won't be gone. More of a rebirth, like Dany.

Re: DAT IDIOCY
DH was weak, I thought that too. It seemed a little bit laboured, a little bit tired.
Dickens is quite an incredible writer in the sense that his literary techniques are something special; his actual storytelling lacks a little bit.
In no particular order: Dostoyevsky, Ray Bradbury, Cormac McCarthy are my favourites.
