Re: So here we are. Where are we?
I appreciate the tips dude, they're all pretty sound. I'm definitely not going to be clingy, she actually messaged me later that day so that's a good sign. I'll be busy next weekend, but the one after that I'm definitely going to try to hang out with her again.
Hah, I'm not worried about being a bum...I'm more worried about paying for everything. I'm a few years older than she is, but I only work a little part-time so I'm not exactly loaded. Like I said, I paid for coffee because it's just coffee but I don't want to set like the precedence that I'll always pay. But I'm not sure how to handle that gracefully in future get-togethers.
Would it be okay to just not say anything? Like we both go on line and order food separately? I have no issue treating her once in a while just to reiterate. But there are some guys I've talked to who said that men should always pay for dates. That sounds like a bad deal to me, like you said, it's not about her and my wallet.
Also, >don't take Gunners advice or else your trophy cabinet will be as barren as the Gunners.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: So here we are. Where are we?
guys paying for everything is left over from a culture we are growing out of, but its still attractive to women to prove yourself as a provider. its also just a nice thing to do for anyone.
I was never good at starting a conversation with anyone or at handling rejection but luckily i was unugly enough to have girls do it for me enough times to become better.

Re: So here we are. Where are we?
You're right, it's definitely a remnant of older values.
Well lucky you. I have no such fortune, I'm average and this girl is probably a little beyond my league. She was just as nervous/awkward as me on the date though, I don't know why.
If only there was a way I could tell her how I feel, ask her how she feels, and then we'd both be more comfortable.

How old are you liquid and how old is she?
I run the paying thing by; if I wanna get dinner, I pay for everything, because she's my guest.
If she wants to get dinner then I just pay for myself
Most of the time though I just pay because I know I make more and have less expenses to pay out then she does

I'm 22, she's 20. I think she works in the summer but during the semester she's a full-time student.
I'll probably end up paying more of the time anyway. But I'll see how she is in terms of paying. This is one of the few times where you'd want to date a hardcore feminist, "No, you don't have to pay for me, we'll both pay for our own."
God why are women so difficult? When it comes to boys all I have to do is tape their mouth shut and they're all mine

Also the main problem here is that you are worrying about how much your gonna have to pay instead of working on the fact that you are a social retard

Isn't it kind of awkward/humiliating that no one posted in that topic you made other than you (who posted twice)?
