Just finished watching 12YAS.


Absolutely superb film, and easily Film of the Year. Fantastic screenplay and acting, and the end had me fucking bawling.

Was it really that good? Gotta watch it. I saw Her recently. I thought it was interesting, a very unique idea, sort of pretentious at times but still thought-provoking. Exactly the kind of movie Selphi will post a review of on his blog.

I haven't watched a single Oscar nominee in theaters in the last 3-4 years. Not even on purpose, I just don't remember ever rooting for a film based solely on the film itself. I usually cheer for the actors I know I like. I want Mcconaughey to win best actor, and Jonah Hill to win Best supporting. This isn't based on what I saw, its based on how much I like them as personalities.

Jennifer Lawrence is a superb actress, I'd like her to win too.

Alright Alright Alright deserves the Oscar. Jonah Hill does not. Jennifer Lawrence even more so. Only actor from American Hustle who deserved a nomination was Christian Bale. Overrated film.

Best film this year was Before Midnight but that is always over looked.

American Hustle was next but Jennifer Lawrence is incredibly overrated. The other actress was quite good though I forget her name.

Infact that film has a terrible supporting cast. Bale is great and so is Jeremy Renner but the hangover prick and Lawrence is annoying. Actually I take that back it had Louie CK and Pollux Troy. Other than the 2 idiots that cast was good.

Wouldn't surprise me if 12 years is shit, however Gravity is shit and the fact the director won a award for it is shameful.

Cuaron is one of the best around.

Children of Men is one of the best films in the past decade. I have been anticipating his next film for years. I'll admit I was disappointed with Gravity but the long takes and cinematography are what makes that film.

Jared Leto is a much betteractor than he is a musician. He was great in the very underrated Lord of War.

All 3 are great. 3rd Harry Potter is the best one after 7 part 1. I'm probably the only one who will say Deathly Hallows pt1 is better than pt2 and the rest of the series but it truly is.

As for Children of Men.

Best film: 12 Years deserved it by far, bloody masterpiece from Britain's finest.

Best director: Gravity was good but Cuaron's directing made it, totally deserved, only other one I would have given it to was Steve McQueen.

Best actor: Feel bad for Leo, every time he's nominated, someone has a career-defining performance. Would put him 3rd behind 2nd place Chiwetel Ejiofor and 1st place MMC who deserves 30 oscars for his performance in True Detective

Best actress: Haven't seen the movie but motherfucking Cate Blanchett, the female Daniel Day-Lewis.

Best supporting actor: Jared Leto was brilliant, totally deserved, still in shock that Jonah cunting Hill has two cunting oscar nominations.

Best supporting actress: Lupita was great and anyone who makes Selphi have a nervous breakdown deserves an award.

Best original screenplay: I'm glad Her got something, great film.

Most predictable Oscars to date. Should have bet on everything, I'd have made at least a grand or some shit. Got pretty much every single category right.

Prisoner of Azkaban was the best, only a feckin pleb would deny it. First time they go to Hogsmeade and Gary Oldman at his finest.

Also, Deathly Hallows part 1 is the better film. It had everything. Their whole escape, Godric's Hollow, Malfoy's house and Dobby's death. All I remember from the second part was the bank robbery and the Hogwarts battle.

okay I watched Gravity in my free time to see what the fuss is about.

I did not enjoy the story, but it deserves every award it won for the artistry. Sound engineering at its finest. Scenery at its finest. etc.. etc.. It's extremely obvious why it won everything. But I'm happy he didn't win the screen writer award or best movie. It didn't excite me. It's just two top actor/actresses in space
