Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
The unrealistic arguement is bullshit. It is a film based off a comic book series. Of course there will be elements that are unrealistic.

But, Nolan went for a realistic approach by not including any of the 'odd' villains.
Yet The Batman himself is a pretty unrealistic character.

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
The ironic thing about Batman, in most of the mediums, is that it is HE who is in fact the most insane.
I'd say they did go over-board with his shit in this one - A fucking Bat helicopter? Zero use of his zipline?

Yes he went realistic to an extent. But you can argue that so many things about his films are unrealistic.
League of Shadows? Unrealistic.
The mob and crime controlling an American city? Quite unrealistic.
The Joker? Pretty unrealistic.
Harvey Dent? Unrealistic.
Bane? Unrealistic.
Bane and his mob taking over an entire city, getting hold of a nuke? Unrealistic.
I could go on. But there are quite a lot of unrealistic elements in the films. They are just made more believable than your average superhero films because Nolan hasn't waaayyy over the top with it. He didn't use many special affects and the Batmobile and Batpod (bike) are actually vehicles that work in real life.

What's unrealistic about the league of shadows? Ha!?
lol at that second one.
Explain how the Joker is an unrealistic character too, please. Especially hard now considering some guy just got busted for pretending to be him...
Harvey Dent? It's plausible, but the film does make his features seem a bit unrealistic
Bane being unrealistic? Again, explain that to me as well.
Terrorists locking down a city because they have a nuke? Unrealistic? looooooooooooool.

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
The League of Shadows - A group of Ninja-esque people that live in a secluded area (presumably the Himalayan mountains?), doing what they can to fight injustice around the world, and then setting out to destroy a city.... That is realistic to you?
Lol? Explain? If you have sufficient evidence of a major city in America (the country this film is based) being over run by criminals and organised crime, then please let me see. In our current age it simply hasn't happened on the same scale as it did in Gotham.
The bloke from the Denver shootings has done nothing on the scale of what the Joker has (if he were real). Sure that state of downright insanity is plausible. But the amounts of destruction and chaos caused isn't. The Joker robbed banks, destroyed hospitals, killed numerous police officers and generally terrorized a city. Only got caught by the Batman.
Bane and his group, get hold a nuke and essentially hold a city hostage. In the entire build up, from when he managed to get hold of the scientist (the plane sequence), to when he entered the stadium and began holding the city hostage, he was never caught. Somehow that is perfectly realistic to you?
All of this in post 9/11 America...

As for the realism argument, everything that Batman is in Nolan's trilogy can be accomplished by a regular guy. He just needs to be rich, have access to military technology and be as fearless as possible.
I remember when BB was first released and someone did a study about the "realism" of Batman. It was said that acquiring all of Batman's gadgets would cost about several million dollars, well inside Bruce's budget.

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
I decided to rewatch TDK over the weekend again. I still maintain that Ledger's performance as The Joker was one of, if not, the single best performance in any form of media I have ever seen in my entire life. The interrogation scene also remains as one of my favorite scenes in a movie ever.

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
You have to take Batman by a hypothetical approach. None of the heros or villains in the Batman series are actually unrealistic (there are exceptions that were introduced as soon as Superman came to Gotham)
The league of shadows are a terrorist group that trains mercenaries to be ninjas. Bane is just a League of shadows reject with a lot of hatred. He's smart and he has access to Nuclear Weapons.
Fun Fact: If you can bring a Nuclear Bomb into the center of New York City, hold the detonator, and have an army of mercenaries/cons you can also hold an entire city hostage

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
I agree to Bane > Joker
also Tom Hardy > Heath Ledger
but I didn't like Anne Hathaway as catwoman
Gary Oldman is one of the greatest actors to ever live
and how good an actor is Joseph Gordon-Levitt
also i'm lolling everywhere at the 'U CAN GET NUKE AND HAZ CITY' no you fucking can't, if the police force caught wind of a supervillain living with an army in the sewers they'd be ended within minutes. in today's world you wouldn't even get close to doing what Bane did. Batman is unrealistic.

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
Joseph Gordon Levitt is much better in many other films. Hiim, Liaam Neeson and Bale are my 3 favourite actors. Awesome how they were all in this.
My problem with TDKR.
Bane and Batman did not have the same rivalry as Batman with Al Ghul or with the Joker. You just didn't get that Batman had anything in it other than saving the City. Al Ghul trained him and taught him a lot of what he knows. Joker killed. The love of his life. He has personal motives to try and stop these guys.
Bane just broke his back. Doesn't compare to what the other two did.
Also they ruined the story of Talia. If they had made hers and Bruce's relationship more meaningful then her betrayal at the end would have been much more powerful.
And Catwoman. Incredibly corny. Horrible one liners. Nolan is better than this.

Neeson is my favorite actor ever
Bale is one of the most committed and hard-working actors
and Levitt just has incredible screen presence
for pure acting Edward Norton is the best

Re: THE GODDAM BATMAN
Norton has fallen so far. He's picked some awful roles in the last ten years and has been reduced to some generic character in Bourner Legacy.
The best actor alive today, and nobody can argue this because its the truth.
Daniel Day Lewis.

People like Gary Oldman, Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons and Sean Penn are more visceral imo, and that makes their screen-time better.
