COME ON MURRAY!!!
Wimbledon rematch against The Federer.
I heard somewhere that this has been Scotlands best Olympics since 1912 or something.

For what it's worth, I'm American and I 100% agree that our commentary is stupidly biased and loaded down with inane bullshit. The whole Lochte thing was just them trying to manufacture storylines to drive up interest prior to the games (for better ratings), then Lochte more or less falls flat on his ass and ruins the entire thing.Hazy wrote:I've been watching the Olympics in America and it was hard getting used to the Team USA bias.
Seriously, they showed some American gymnast bird crying cos she was supposed to be a world champion but failed to qualify for hours and hours. They then spent a solid 10 minutes calling all the young Russian girls divas even though they were just going about their business.
They wouldn't fucking stop championing that Lochte fellow. They've been talking about how cute that picture he took with that ugly swimming bitch is for at least two days. He could have won two gold medals in half an hour but bottled the first race and got put in his place by Phelps in the second one. Take that, cunt.
"Aww bless, Justin Bieber tweeted Missy Franklin" - WHO GIVES A FUCK!!!!!!!!
Really, NBC's olympic coverage is fucking terrible.

The BBC coverage has been great IMO. It is biased towards team GB but that is understandable. 24 HD Channels!! No adverts!? Fuck yeah!

Re: The Olympics Thread
I went to the GB/Uruguay match. Different atmosphere to the usual, very few drunk nobhead elitists. Nice and relaxed, and whadda ya know, GB played some good stuff.
I am loving these Olympics, making an effort to watch as much as I can, developed a love for handball, reignited my passion for archery and water polo and I really feel British for perhaps the first time ever. Some seriously tense and iconic moments, I welled up when Murray beat Novak. The choice of playing Bowie's "heroes" after a GB win is brilliant IMO.
I am definitely going to go to 2020. Istanbul could be the stuff of legend if it gets the Olympics. 3 weeks in searing Eastern European heat surrounded by mental fans with hot girls running riot? Fuck yeah.

Mate it's Brazil in 2016, doesn't get any crazier than that!
Anyway, what a night last night, 3 athletic gold medals, absolutely amazing. Murrary in two finals, the singles and mixed doubles with Robson. I hope he can get both, but against Fed again it will be so so tough for him.
The track cycling has been unreal, just as I type this Pendleton has broken another Olympic record. But four golds for the track cycling and many broken world records is amazing.
Looking forward to the 100m semis and final tonight I hope Adam Gemili does well, he could be a future star. But it will come down to Bolt vs Blake, fingers crossed we a see a new world record tonight.

Bolt vs Blake.
My money is on Bolt, after seeing that semi, damn. I know Blake was faster but Bolt pulled up waaay earlier than he did.

Penalties man.
This fucking country and penalties.
Damn proud of our last few days though. We've done fucking excellent. Ranking 3rd is fantastic.
I'm REALLY hoping the revenue goes to public services and into working on "British Legacy" for sport.

I agree that the US commentary is bias. But its the same in every country. I went on a skiing trip to Canada during the last Winter Olympics. And they were showing Curling in the diner for at least 2 hours, and the pundit was breaking it down play by play like we actually care (because people do care). And they completely disregarded Shaun White and Apolo Ohno (World Champion US athletes) throughout their events.

Who knew Taio Cruz was British?! Went to a prep school lmao.
That closing ceremony was shite at first but fuck me it got good. Nothing says BRITAIN more than Eric Idle in a spacesuit surrounded by nuns on rollerskates while Fatboy Slim messes around in a giant octopus.
