The ignorance of this generation of 13 year olds doesn't excuse yours. It's almost like saying you've never heard of Queen; even if you don't like them (and I'm actually not a huge Pink Floyd fan; their stuff's good, but generally a bit too mellow for me, unless I'm in the mood for it), you should at least know who they are and a couple of songs.

Fucking hell, I was literally raised on Pink Floyd. I own 3 Vinyls, a £180 remastered box set, several shirts, several gig tickets from cover acts and a fucking DSOTM mug.

And a lot of Floyd's "era 1" is anything but mellow - Upbeat new-wave/psychedelic.Piper At The Gates... is easily one of their best albums.

Obscured By Clouds is VERY under-appreciated album, too. I don't get the disinterest.
